What is a task?
A task is something that needs doing in your household — without due dates, alarms, or daily resets.
A task is something that needs to get done — like vacuuming under a couch, taking out trash, or dusting a bookshelf.
FreshChores is designed to be calm. Tasks don’t have due dates, and there's no daily reset or streak system. When a task is completed, it goes away. When it's ready again, it simply becomes available.
- Tasks belong to the household (they’re part of one shared system).
- Some tasks apply to everyone. Others apply only to certain people.
- Tasks reappear based on their rhythm (aka frequency).
- No overdue warnings. No streaks.
- Earnings are optional and can be attached to tasks.
- A task you no longer want is archived, not deleted — and can be restored.
There is one shared set of tasks, and two light ways of pointing at them without changing them: My List, your own shortlist, and requests, for asking someone about a particular task.
