How to add tasks
Name one task or describe a whole area, then review what FreshChores suggests before you keep it.
There is one place to add tasks, and it takes either a single task or a description of a whole area.
- Tap the + button in the bottom right of the Tasks tab. (It’s also under Settings → Tasks → Create a task.)
- Type a task — “Wipe counters” — or describe an area, like “Bathroom with a glass shower door and tile floors”. Tappable examples sit under the field if you want a starting point.
- Tap Review tasks.
FreshChores reads what you wrote and sets each task’s room, rhythm, category, rough effort, and whether it counts as essential. A description of an area usually produces several tasks; a single task name produces one. New tasks start with no earnings — add those yourself if your household uses them.
The review screen shows what was created, grouped by room when more than one room is involved. From there:
- Tap a task to edit it
- Remove the ones that don’t fit
- Undo all discards the whole batch
- Done keeps them and returns you to your tasks
Tip
If you name a room in the title — “wash drapes in living room” — the room is set from it and dropped from the title. A room that doesn’t exist yet is created, and the review screen says so.
Note
Reviewing is part of adding tasks, not a correction step. What FreshChores suggests is a starting point.
