How to edit a task
Change a task’s title, room, rhythm, applicability, earnings, and more. Changes save as you make them.
Editing a task is an everyday action, not an administrative one. Tap a task anywhere on its title or body — from the Tasks tab, a room or category group, search results, or the Requests screen — and it opens.
What you can change:
- Title — tap it at the top of the screen
- Room — where the task happens
- Applies to — which members the task shows up for, once your household has more than one person (see task applicability)
- Recurrence — either a rhythm (how often, like 2x per week) or specific weekdays; and the months of the year it applies to
- Effort — roughly how long it takes
- Category — the kind of work it is
- Essential — whether it counts as essential
- Earnings — what completing it is worth, when earnings are on
Each one opens a small drawer, and changes save as you make them. There is no save button.
Two other controls sit at the top of the screen: Details / History switches between the task’s settings and its completion record, and the ⋯ button holds My List, Request from…, and Archive task.
Tip
If a task feels too frequent, or lands in the wrong room, or isn’t worth what it says — change it. Tasks are meant to match the home they describe.
Note
Owners and Managers can edit any task in the household. Members can edit the tasks they created; other people’s tasks open read-only. See household roles.
